Orion Sun Systems plans to launch compact and super-power solar power plants that will replace conventional generators.
Each station consists of a block of 12-volt, 100Ah batteries, which can withstand up to 2000 charge-discharge cycles. Batteries are powered by built-in solar panels and (optionally) from an additional wind generator.
This approach allows Orion Sun Systems to store energy in any weather and at any time of the day. If necessary, the batteries can also be charged from a regular mains. All stations are equipped with 20-centimeter wheels and a durable waterproof case, thanks to which they can be left outdoors for many months and even years.
At the heart of each station are 100-watt 12-volt single-crystal solar panels. They are equipped with a built-in charge regulator and do not require regular maintenance. The stored energy is delivered through five 120-volt sockets (three of them are external and two internal), and one USB connector for charging gadgets. During charging, the small electronics is placed in a protected box, so it can be left unattended.
Orion Sun Systems is fully charged for three hours in clear weather and for 6-10 in rainy and overcast. Its full charge is enough for 6 hours of microwave operation, 12 hours of operation of a standard refrigerator or TV, or for 24 hours of operation of an irrigation pump. Supplies of power plants will begin in August 2017, and their retail price will be $ 2,000.
