Portable Turbine Waterlily generates energy from water or wind

As reality shows, a modern man, who for a long time has been away from "civilization" in the mountains or a tourist hike, is not going to abandon its "digital" benefits. And then everything depends on the technical characteristics of power supplies.

Today, the capacity to extract energy has increased significantly. Its potential sources are the sun, wind, river, fire and even salt water. The creator of the portable Waterlily turbine ("Water Lily"), the Canadian start-up Seaformatics adapted its product to two "elements" - water and wind.

Waterlily weighs only 800 g and has dimensions of 180 x 75 mm. It can be installed either in a fast-flowing river or in the wind, and connect any mobile device through the available USB connectors. The minimum "working" speed of the current is from 1 to 11 km / h. The maximum power of 25 W turbine can reach at a speed of 7.2 km / h. For the wind, the minimum is 10.8 km / h, and the most effective is 72 km / h.

In case of absence of wind and river, Seaformatics plans to add a special pen. "Waterlily" can also work from the bike and when driving on water by canoe or kayak.
The orders for the turbine are already being accepted. The first customers it will get for 99 dollars, and further the price will increase to 149 dollars.
